Facilities
and Activities
Within the
Park guests can enjoy the various facilities on offer. The
covered jumping pillow and swimming pool with the waterslide
provide the kids with hours of entertainment. Even in winter
the temperatures are warm enough to have some fun in the pool.
Various
activities are held during the busy winter months and craft
mornings are popular for the ladies who can have a day off
from fishing and turn their talents to their craft activities " find
another deckie tomorrow darling, I'm going to craft!". BBQ's
and happy hours are held regularly providing an opportunity
to make new friends and catch up with old mates while having
a few laughs.
The park
has a friendly atmosphere and owners George and Debbie enjoy
the opportunity to meet new people and catch up with old mates.
The beach
is just 200 metres from the park entrance and a playground
on the foreshore provides another activity for the kids. The
beach is gorgeous for walking as the sand is firm and the beach
wide. It is popular with hangliders, kite surfers, windsurfers
and early morning race horse training. Dogs love a run on
the beach and a play in the water.
Conway Beach
Tourist Park is super peaceful. No passing traffic, trains,
or planes to disturb a great nights sleep.
The
Whitsundays are home to 74 islands and some of the most
beautiful scenery you will ever experience.
There are
many companys offering various trips from Airlie Beach to enjoy
the islands, the snorkelling, magnificent white sandy beaches,
the Great Barrier Reef and so much more.
Airlie Beach
is a 25 minute drive from Conway Beach and is a vibrant town
situated overlooking Pioneer Bay, with the bluest water and
stunning views to the Whitsunday Islands. A day in Airlie is
a must and in summer a swim in the lagoon in the centre of
town overlooking the view makes for a great outing. Cruises
leave from a couple of points around Airlie Beach.
Many people
choose to stay away from the busy centres and Conway
Beach Tourist Park "offers the best of both worlds" -
the peaceful stay in a quiet, friendly park but so close to all
that Airlie has to offer.
Fishing
is popular for guests and it is certainly an
advantage to have a boat. The Proserpine River is accessible
by a boat ramp located 5kms from Conway Beach Tourist Park.
The Proserpine River is renowned for Barramundi fishing and
King and Blue Salmon. The bream are huge. Mud crabs are also
plentiful as are the crocodiles .... so swimming in the river
is not recommended ! Go to our Fishing
page for more
info and photos!
An area
is provided for fish cleaning, crab cooking and boat washing.
