Activities
So much to do and see for the whole family!
A new pool was built mid 2009 and is perfect for
the younger kids as they can splash in the shallow “ beach
area”. It is also popular with the “grey nomads” who
enjoy being able to swim in winter – who’d have thought!.
The fishing is always good, even from the beach
and there is so much to keep the kids busy, they will be sleeping
like never before.
- Jumping pillow
- Big pool with beach area
- Waterslide
- Tennis court
- Basketball ring
- Sandpit
- The beach is ideal for beach cricket,
a long stroll and perfect for walking the dog or watching
the blowcarts, race horses training in the early morning,
windsurfers on the windy days and even hang gliders.
- Children may also bring their bikes, roller blades
or scooters but must wear a helmet.
- The beautiful beach is just 200 metres from the
park entrance.
There
are lots of special activities on offer at various times of
the year. In winter, a weekly
BBQ is held, bingo is played, and there are craft mornings
which are popular
with the ladies – “find another deckie tomorrow
darling, I’m staying for craft”. Happy hour is
held every afternoon.
Xmas in July is celebrated,
and for those staying on
Christmas Day in December a Christmas lunch is offered.
The Australia Day weekend
is full of fun games and Easter is all about chocolates and
children! Easter bookings are taken from December 1st each
year and sites book very quickly. Minimum stays apply. For
details and costs contact the park in December.
Conway Beach
Tourist Park is super peaceful. No passing traffic, trains,
or planes to disturb a great nights sleep.
The Whitsundays are home to 74 islands and some
of the most beautiful scenery you will ever experience.
There are
many companys offering various trips from Airlie Beach to enjoy
the islands, the snorkelling, magnificent white sandy beaches,
the Great Barrier Reef and so much more.
Airlie Beach
is a 25 minute drive from Conway Beach and is a vibrant town
situated overlooking Pioneer Bay, with the bluest water and
stunning views to the Whitsunday Islands. A day in Airlie is
a must and in summer a swim in the lagoon in the centre of
town overlooking the view makes for a great outing. Cruises
leave from a couple of points around Airlie Beach.
Many people choose to
stay away from the busy centres and Conway Beach Tourist Park "offers the best of
both worlds" - a peaceful stay in a quiet, friendly park
but so close to all that Airlie has to offer.
